The United States has had a number of remarkable leaders. Three early presidents are especially notable for their contributions and their impact on the nation’s future: George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, and Abraham Lincoln. This set, which is especially appropriate for early grades, brings together portraits, manuscript documents, maps, and other artifacts that introduce these presidents.

This set is intended for open-ended primary source analysis by students. A Teacher’s Guide with background information, teaching ideas, and additional resources is available on the Library’s Web site for teachers, loc.gov/teachers.
