Description

A sexy standalone forbidden sports romance from #1 NYT Bestseller Lauren Blakely!
The woman I want is as off-limits as they come.
I had an excuse two years ago when I met her on campus. She interviewed me for a story on major league baseball's rising stars, and we shared a hot, passionate night that ended far too soon, and without a mention of who her father was.
Now I know the innocent but sexy woman I can’t stop thinking about is the coach's daughter.
That means her dad is the guy who determines if I bat fourth in the starting lineup in every game, or ride the bench.
All the more reason to resist alluring, confident, brainy Reese every time I run into the reporter-turned-sports publicist.
That ought to be easy enough, until the time she confesses she's still carrying her V card, and she’s been wanting me to cash it in since the day we met.
Staying away from her is going to be harder than resisting a fastball down the middle.
Especially since I'm pretty sure she's the one who got away, and letting her slip through my fingers again would be a rookie mistake.

There were times that my focus wanderer from the story but for the most part it was good. Both Reese and Holden were likable characters and I liked the fact that they we’re grown as adults. I also like the fact that their was minimal drama and not created drama just to write it in a story. Until next time y’all happy reading.

Too much silly stuff about why they can’t be together that’s repetitive and boring. S*x was not even hot, there was more writing about baseball than love making.
  • Fun, flirty and forbidden!

Another fun, flirty yet forbidden storyline. Holden and Reese’s second chance grabs you from the get go. Their banter and chemistry will hold you until the end. This series is great and can’t wait for the next one!

Lauren Blakely writes a new second chance romance that bats it out of the ballpark! Holden meets the one woman when he returns to his alma mater for a round robin discussion. She was not in his game plan. But they make a plan to meet up, and those are redirected when Reece get the opportunity to go abroad to teach teenagers about media. What-if? That’s the question both Reece and Holden ask themselves for two years. Until they run into each when Reece returns to California for a new job. But the timing is not right, now there are many obstacles in their way. 1. Reece is the new coaches daughter, and that violates the unwritten code. 2. Will it look bad to Reece’s career if she dates an athlete? 3. How will the press turn the story around to look bad to the public? Can Holden and Reece get strike out or bat a home run with their relationship?

Reese Fallon is a senior about to graduate college with a very successful Sports Pod Cast. She scores an interview with Holden Kingsley the 2nd baseman for the Los Angeles Bandits. Holden has kept a strict schedule with hisgoals focusing only on baseball. He doesn’t like distractions but, when he meets Reese their chemistry is so incredible and for the first time Holden makes an exception. Their time together is cut short with a promise to see each other again. Until Reese gets a dream job opportunity out of the country that changes things. 2 years later Reese is coming home to San Francisco and Holden is traded to the San Francisco Dragons. They both haven’t moved on from their brief time together 2 years ago but, there are unfortunate reasons they cannot finally be together even though they desperately want to. I received an ARC for this book and this is my review.

I loved every second of The Virgin Game Plan!! This forbidden sports romance will make you swoon. I loved Reese and Holden. Holden isn’t your cocky baseball player, he sweet, sexy and has a great heart! Holden agrees to do a podcast interview with Reese and these two hit it off from the start! After one day together they want more, only life takes them in different directions. Time doesn’t lessen the feelings their short time together invoked. When their paths cross again their feelings haven’t changed, but a curveball neither expected makes this relationship seem impossible. I loved the way this story came together and way Reese and Holden fought and never gave up!
  • My new favorite Lauren Blakely book!!

I always enjoy Lauren Blakely’s books - her characters are always people you would want as friends. But this book & these characters? I LOVED IT!! College Senior Reese meets pro baseball player Holden when he agrees to be interviewed for her sports podcast while he’s back on campus for an event. They hit it off immediately & are making plans for something more, including giving up her V card, when real-life intervenes...Holden’s flight gets moved up & he has to leave, then Reese ends up accepting a job out of the country. Two years later she’s come home to San Francisco & a new job, and he’s been traded to one of the local pro-teams. When they meet again at a fundraiser & realize they are living in the same city, that same chemistry sizzles and it seems like they’ll finally get the chance to be together. Oops - bad timing again- as it turns out Holden’s new boss is Reese’s estranged dad. Nobody thinks dating the coach’s daughter would be a good move! But these two truly do seem to be made for each other...and reading about them figuring out how to make that happen in this dual POV book makes for a great story! Get the book & I bet you’ll fall in love with them too!

The Virgin Game Plan was an awesome read. Second chance romance is one of my favorites and I was excited to dive into this story. Holden and Reese were so sweet and adorable. From the first time these two meet, there was an instant chemistry. I loved how Lauren takes us through their first meet to when their separation to their reconnection. It sets up their basis of their relationship and it just gave more. The time they spent together showed how good they were as a couple. They gave great banter and they had fun times. It was very easygoing and they got along so well. I enjoyed the friendships that Holden had with other baseball players. It was entertaining and they also had each other's backs. And Reese's friendship with her girls was nice. It was like family. I liked seeing snippets of the previous couple in the series as well as future couples. Lauren did a fabulous job of setting up those books and I can't wait to read them. Overall, this was an enjoyable story with the typical Lauren Blakely flair that I love.

The Virgin Game Plan is Lauren Blakely's newest sports romance and I am totally in love with it! This sweet, sexy, swoony story most definitely should be your next must-read. It has everything you've come to expect from a Blakely story: blistering hot chemistry, strong friendships, multi-layered characters that are both interesting and fun, and fabulously witty banter. I loved everything about this story and you will too. If you're looking for your next swoon-worthy book boyfriend, look no further because Holden is going to rock your world! Blakely's newest hero quickly climbed to the top of the charts on my book boyfriend list and I'm not sorry about it! Holden is FIRE! I loved his dedication and laser-focus on baseball, his incredible friendships with both his teammates and his rivals, and his strong morals. He is not your typical athlete! Reese was the perfect match for Holden. She's motivated, loyal, funny, and strong. I loved their meet-cute and how they never forgot one another. When they reconnect after two years apart, these two still feel the same pull. In a word, they are magnetic. With huge obstacles in their way, these two need to fight their way to their happily ever after. The Virgin Game Plan is a complete standalone story even though it is book #2 in the Rules of Love series. Blakely brings back several favorite characters and introduces us to new ones who I can't wait to get to know further. Everything about this book was a joy to read. Don't miss it! 5 stars
