Every book I read from the Vera Stanhope series becomes my favorite and this book was no different! Ann Cleeves never lets you down!

Outstanding book! I greatly enjoyed reading this. Vera is a favorite character. The story was captivating and I had to keep reading until the killer was identified. I really enjoy watching the Vera series, and look forward to season 11 ahead!! Thank you to the author for such an awesome book!!

My first encounter with the canny Vera Stanhope and I hope to have time to visit with her in previous episodes. This down to earth, plain, smart, middle aged inspector is a great character and I enjoyed this story immensely. You meet Vera and her team, with insights into their working relationships. If you enjoy a good murder mystery grab this one.
