Description

Colony One is prepared for anything — except the saboteur who's already on board.

For Jonah Wyatt, the Space Force is his last shot at a military career. After years leading an elite task force, he was discharged from the army and stuck working one menial job after another. Now this disgraced combat specialist is headed to space. He's tasked with training his own unit aboard Elderon: colony one. Nobody bothered to tell him it would be a squad of white-hat hackers and intel eggheads who are definitely not Space Force material.

One recruit is Maggie Jones — an undercover reporter who was brought on board as a member of the press corps. Her job is to create fluffy corporate propaganda that paints the colony as a futuristic utopia, but Maggie can't follow the rules once she gets wind of a story.

When Maggie gets a tip from an unknown source, she realizes Elderon is not at all what it seems. As she gets closer to unraveling the conspiracy, Sergeant Wyatt begins to suspect that there's a spy on board. The saboteur has been with them all along, and he's been building an army of his own.

The Elderon Chronicles is now a complete series!

  • Different story line for a science fiction book

The story line is a different one from the standard science fiction novel that is based in space from the beginning This one starts on earth and ends on a space station Do not know if the story line is different enough to buy the next book follow the main characters

good book for someone in the mood for an easy read. pretty straightforward storyline, i wasn’t amazed with the writing. descriptions felt elementary and obvious/predictable; i prefer stories that require a little more inference. also felt like more could have happened in the book. was kind of slow paced and the climax was a slight yawn for 300+ pages. i also prefer long and more complicated storylines especially for a space opera.

The book is arbitrarily whacked off and you’re told to pay $3.99 to finish it. I refuse to pay again for a book. If I’d finished the first in a series I would but not when the first book I paid for was not finished.

  • Scifi tome of space exploration and colonization

This was an interesting tome regarding a low space colony off earth but not deep space just a 5 hour flight to earth to and from. Humans take the same issues to the colony as are found on Earth therefore there are the same problems. I was more interested in the authors information of the innovations in AI currently and the potential problems with the Alexa like devices being reprogrammed to feed back overheard information with reprogramming. I have one but never have used it because I did not find it useful in my life.

This book got me back into reading with its nonstop questions and total immersion. There were some pacing issues for me and it was a little hard to picture some of the components of the novel in my head, but overall the new world that was created with this book is totally believable and exciting!
