Reviews

  • Tedious slog that meanders on, and on.

A terrible read. I love Clancy but this read is tedious, slow moving, and the author seems to have typed entire chapters of pointless dialogue, and completely irrelevant history from the author’s eyes. Action is non existent and the Russians as the “good guys” actually make me sick. Be warned this book is nothing but hundreds of pages of regret.

This book took a long time to set the stage and there were a lot of characters to learn but it all came together nicely for a great finish!
  • Simplistic though well researched

Clancy always does his homework, but his presentation of big picture issues and actions is simplistic full of fantasy heroes and worn stereotypes. The last half in particular will hold your attention, and if you believe he with the fastest gun can solve everything, you will feel fulfilled.

I'm 600 pages in and so starved for this book to get interesting that I've gone back to the iTunes Store to write this review. I don't write reviews. I earnestly feel this book could be less than half this length if there wasn't added background, context, commentary and inner monologue on everything (and I mean all caps everything). In all fairness, I've been reading Baldacci up to this book.

After reading rainbow six, I thought that this book would pick up where it left off. I was in for a rude awakening. Out of the hole book I think rainbow six is mention a few times. A brief part in the beginning and a small, part at the end. If you think this book is about John Clark and his top notch commandos you are sadly mistaken.

Tom Clancy is well known for his insightful abilities to look into the face of American government and CIA politics, but this book shows a master at work! I feel like I know jack Ryan on a personal level, and that's due to the author. Good job, Tom. Can. Write one more Jack Ryan masterpiece? I'm hopeful!

Once again I am fed up with the amount of errors in these books. I was just charged $29.00 for books that are full of pages of errors and wasn't able to finish the book. If there was some way to demand my money returned, I would. Ronald W. King

Alright, I downloaded the new update and lost "The Bear and the Dragon." Don't know how the update is but I'm just a tad ticked that the title is gone!!!! I want it it back. I was almost 2/3rds of the way through. Argh!
