By far the best version of an alien invasion. No virgin flying frisbees with pathetic laser guns we got chad three legged mechs that have heat beams capable of incinerating not only it’s target but it’s entire surroundings. No need for air superiority just get ten of these and you can collapse an entire nation in one go. As you can tell I love the tripod concept. And to think this was made in the early 19th century (1850-1899 is the early 19th century for those who don’t understand) and this concept seems incredibly modern. I guess I should stop my review here. Good book, long, and full of story. Do recommend :D

the book is pretty boring from my perspective, it takes to many chapters to one event to happen
  • Still the Best

As far as alien invasion stories go, this is still unrivaled. Both the original movie and Spielberg's remake are ok, but not up to the lofty heights of the book. Besides, both movies have such corny endings, which I think Wells would have despised.
