Description

An all-new meet-cute sports romance from New York Times and Wall Street Journal bestselling author Kristen Proby, featuring Sophie Montgomery!

I have millions of followers on social media, and it has absolutely nothing to do with my last name. It’s because I’m good at what I do. I work hard, and it has paid off.
I’m not a trainer who only talks the talk, either. I walk the walk—or rather, I run the run. It was actually during one of those jogs through the park that I ran into him.
Of course, at the time, I didn’t realize it was the Isaiah “Ike” Harrison, Seattle’s hot new quarterback. All I knew was that I was suddenly pinned under some solid, sexy body, unable to breathe.
But even now, I keep running into Ike in the most unexpected places.
And he’s doing everything in his power to convince me that he’s not just a player—in any form of the word.
It’s so much more than that.
But I’ve been there, done that. I have the mended broken heart to prove it and have no intention of doing it again.
Except the frustrating man is convincing, and my walls are quickly lowering—especially when I feel responsible for possibly upending his career.
Is letting him in a mistake? Or will it be the best thing I’ve ever done?

I received a complimentary early release e-book prior to release and am voluntarily leaving a review. This is Sophie Montgomery's story. She is Isaac's daughter. We meet her in the original series in a novella about her dad and mom (Under the Mistletoe with Me). In this book we get a glimpse of who she was as a teenager when she loses one of her best friends in a very traumatic way. So much that as an adult it has inspired her career. Then we get to know who she has become, and we watch her fall very hard for Ike, a football player who plays for same team as Sophie's uncle Will. Ike does not come from a great family, let's say he has daddy issues. This was a fast-paced story, and I could not put it down. I loved that we see a lot of Meg and Will in this story, and we also get some awesome girls' nights out with the whole gang.

The Montgomerys are back, and I am loving it. THE SCORE, the third book in Kristen Proby's Single in Seattle series, is full of everything that I love about this big, boisterous, talented family, and it was a true pleasure to read. Kristen Proby continues to write these characters so beautifully, and they are clearly very much a part of her. Sophie Montgomery is completely relatable, and if all pro athletes were like Ike Harrison, we'd all be very very lucky. These two and their story are probably my favorite in the series so far, and that's saying something. Seeing them deal with some of the hard things in life only makes them more real, and that they do it together and so supportively of each other made for a truly heartwarming read. Catching up with the Montgomery clan at large is one of the best things about these books, and seeing all of the kids grown or almost grown is a hoot. I'm hoping that there are many more books coming our way, because these characters and their lives just never get old. Here's to family, especially the Montgomerys. May we know them for a long time to come. ❤️

Single in Seattle is officially my favorite next gen series I have read. I have loved all of these books. Sophie was no exception!! I loved her meet cute with Ike and how strong and independent she is. Ike is swoon worthy 😍 he has those southern manners and seriously is such a good guy. The chemistry between Sophie and Ike is off the charts. As with every book in this series I loved seeing the relationships with the cousins and seeing the original crew as well. I am 100% into this series and never want to leave. The Audio…. OMG! Kristen Proby did the best possible casting for Ike with Jason Clarke! This will an automatic re-listen!

Sophie is now a confident woman running her own business. When she literally runs into Ike she had no idea the changes that would take place. Ike just ran into the most beautiful woman and keeps bumping into her. These two just clicked from the start. I loved how the Montgomery family showed Ike what a loving family looks like! I love getting more from this series!!
  • Wonderful, joyful romantic read

I think I might have recovered enough from this amazing read to sing its praises. I have been in such an amazing book coma. All I keep thinking is how Ike scored when he collided with Sophie. But, then again, Sophie really scored when Ike knocked her off of her feet. Apologizes were exchanged but names were not. Yet, neither could stop thinking of the collision or the other person. Neither could I. I was dying to know how they would meet back up. I knew it would happen but was clueless of how it would happen. The fates intervene. Sophie heads over to her Uncle Will's to share some of the food she prepared for work as a nutritionist. He never says no to her food. He never says no to the guys on the Seattle football team when they ask for guidance either. I was giddy with excitement when Sophie and Ike actually meet. The chemistry between them is so hot. Ike and Sophie just fit. Sparks fly. They steam up the pages. I loved each and every minute of their romance and courtship. They were destined to be together. It soon becomes apparent that Ike has no clue what it is like to be around such an amazing, supportive family. Sophie is more than happy to share the Montgomerys with him. There is no such thing as perfect, but I sure felt like Ike and Sophie were pretty darn close. He will need that connection as his world comes crashing down. I couldn't believe the crazy turn the story took. The tension was intense. I was to upset over what Ike had to go through. I was hooked on the story for the romance. I devoured the story wanting to know how Ike could be on top of the world one minute only for it to come crashing down the next. I have to say I didn't see it coming, but that is what makes it such an amazing story. The drama, the treachery, the love and family connection have me still thinking about The Score 24 hours later. I don't think I will forget Ike and Sophie any time soon.

Ike Harrison is Seattle’s hot new starting quarterback. He’s every girl’s dream. He’s got a little southern charm, a pure heart, a good head in his shoulders, and he’s mighty sexy to boot. Sophie Montgomery is social media influencer who experienced a tragic outcome as a teen that has impacted her into becoming the gorgeous woman she is today. When Sophie & Ike first meet…well, second meeting really…their connection is almost immediate. They just seem to click. There’s an easiness about them in how the communicate & act that seems to be the perfect recipe for the perfect relationship. Sophie’s family is BIG & they are tight. This is new territory for Ike & sometimes, that can be daunting. But the way that Ike pushed through because of his love for Sophie, and the way that she & her whole family for that matter, supported him completely was so heartwarming. The support of family was exactly what Ike needed to help him see what he truly deserved in life. There were some setback, but I really liked the way that these two were able to communicate properly and work through their issues quickly.

I inhaled this book. Took me about 4 hours and I was mad at myself the whole time because I wanted it to last longer to savor it but I just couldn't put it down. It’s no big secret that Kristen Proby’s With Me In Seattle series is one of my all-time favorites. But what I’m coming to realize is the next generation is even better (*gasp, yes I said it). Don’t worry Nate (Fight With Me), you’re still my favorite; but Gray (The Scandal) was right up there with him. Y’all…Ike is even better. He is so absolutely swoon-worthy it’s not even funny. He ticks all the boxes and knows all the rules. Tell the lady to stay in the car while you come around to open the door, check. Immediately backs off when she’s not sure, check. Tells her to be quiet and reassures her when she’s afraid she’s being a tease, check. Loves his mama, check. Adopts a goofy, big-footed, slobbery puppy from the shelter he volunteers at, check. Gah…I just can’t. The story itself is what we have all come to love about Kristen’s worlds. Funny banter, lots of family cameos, hilarious drunken girls’ night. It’s all there. But there was something about this one that just hit me all in the feels. I also appreciated the dedication and I know that and many of Sophie's experiences will resonate with a lot of women. Thank you for creating "real" women. She is so incredibly strong and the way she turns tragedy to triumph is inspiring. Learning Sophie’s backstory makes it that much more special to see how far she has come. I think my favorite part is when Ike realizes what a real family is all about. Because let’s be honest, we’ve all wished we were a member of the Montgomery clan at least once, right?!
