Description

Two thousand years ago, Jesus walked across Galilee; everywhere he traveled he gained followers. His contemporaries are familiar historical figures: Julius Caesar, Caesar Augustus, Herod the Great, Pontius Pilate. It was an era of oppression, when every man, woman, and child answered to the brutal rule of Rome. In this world, Jesus lived, and in this volatile political and historical context, Jesus died—and changed the world forever. Adapted from Bill O'Reilly's bestselling historical thriller Killing Jesus, and richly illustrated, The Last Days of Jesus is a riveting, fact-based account of the life and times of Jesus.

This is honestly one of the most poorly written books I've ever read. As I read through the short chapters, I could never get truly engaged. There was very little comfortable flow...almost as if the sections had been cut and pasted. Although I do appreciate well-placed photos and diagrams, they seemed like filler. And the ending....very abrupt. I've read other books that chronicle the life of Christ, as well as the Bible itself, and this one would come in on the bottom. I had planned on this being my first O'Reilly book. Guess it's my first and last unless I find one at Good Will and can take a chance for $1.00.
