The Cause of Lorenzo De Manila

When the historic moment of Lorenzo de Manila's beatification came – almost 5 years after his official inclusion in the Cause of 16 martyrs by Pope Paul VI – close to 350 years had passed since old Manila's church bells pealed to announce the joyful news of the heroic death of this son of Binondo.

Lorenzo has since become a unifying symbol of selfless sharing – not only for his people but also for other peoples of Asia.
