Christins McKnight is a jewel amongst Regency Romance writers! I cannot remember when I’ve been so thoroughly immersed in a story and cared so much about the characters, that I never wanted it to end. This is the 2nd Christina McKnight novel I have read. The 1st one had me searching for more by this immensely, talented, writer and I plan to spend the days ahead reading her books, until I’ve read them all. With this plan, I’ve many months of enjoyment awaiting me. Thank you Ms McKnight!
  • A nice story, but some things missing and an abrupt ending

A nice plot, but it seemed like the book ended too soon. It was almost as if the author decided the book was getting too long, and just…wrapped it up. Nothing was resolved with Brock’s cousin, even though there were hints that he might have been involved in the twins’ death. Vi lost her beloved stables and business, and there was no resolution to that situation. The main characters suddenly decided they were attracted to each other enough that they could forget about the past and get married.

Overall this is a good read with great plot and writing. However, it ended way too fast paced than necessary.

This novel was well written and kept the reader interested in the outcome from beginning to end. Author did a good job in her research of the time period. The characters were well versed in their specific phase of their interactions.

I’m sorry but the writing in this book is subpar. It started out with promise but quickly dissolved into an unreadable plot .
