  • I wish there was more compassion and love

    2
    By HawaiiNatalie
It’s a beautiful book, in concept, and the sentiment is certainly sincere. But my goodness, does God not love and cherish the homosexual and the “HEATHEN” (as the author put it, inclusive of capitalization) as much as he does the faithful Christian? There was an undercurrent of judgement and an air of superiority that I just couldn’t get past, despite great effort. The suggestion that one can only turn to another Christian for help and comfort during times of hardship is likewise absurd. This is an imperfect human experience and our loving god knows and understands that and asks only that we love unconditionally. Christian or no, we’re all just walking one another home. Again, the concept and the sentiment are lovely.... but the execution was not a fit for me. I guess I’m a different kind of Christian, and that’s ok. God has love enough for us all, and thank Heaven he looks not upon our outward fumblings through human existence, but upon the state of our hearts.
