The Luckiest Man in the West

Luke Trahern is considered lucky, so he decides to become a miner. Headed for the gold fields of Idaho, he meets a bear, and then a girl who luckily saves his life. They barely survive crossing the continental divide, Indians, another bear, and other adventures on their journey.
