Description

The Whales Phonics Reader presents 8 sounds from Phonics One and puts them in a true to life story about a Humpback Whale. The Ducks Phonics Reader provides the other 8 sounds from Phonics One. The featured sounds are colour coded and one or two appear in each paragraph.  This makes these reader books fun to read out loud because of the concentration of sounds that sound the same.  "He bullied them by blowing bubbles from his blowholes." The whales story is beautifully and accurately illustrated by Frances Smith, who attended Elam School of Art and who's contribution of artworks and educational materials earned her a Commemoration Medal (1990) for Services to New Zealand. The art is all true to life and the story based on fact.  Words are highlighted as they are read in video mode making the story easy to follow along with. Animations occur on each page after it has been read out loud. Commonly used words in English and in the book are provided as flashcards with audio file at the end of the story. Learn to talk English with a video tutor teaching you how to pronounce words. Reading Master is great for children with learning disabilities including dyslexia and autism.
