Description

Note from Melissa: This novella (approximately 15,500 words of 60-65 printed pages) is a gift to my existing readers, who have asked for more about Sasha and Leo's relationship. If you're new to the series, I recommend you start with any one of the full-length legal thrillers and come back to this when you know Sasha and Leo a bit better.

Sasha McCandless and Leo Connelly are looking forward to a romantic Valentine's Day together--a break from the chaos and danger that seem to follow them. They have a few surprises in store for one another, too.

But first they'll have to navigate multiple hurdles, as Sasha's cooking skills, a battered woman in a parking lot, a former client, and a homeless kitten all threaten to derail their plans.

A good but very short book. The author called it “a gift” to my readers, but the readers have to pay $2+ for this “gift”. I think it irks me mostly that she called it a gift and then charged us for it. This story could easily have been incorporated into another of her novels. I have loved all of the Sasha McCandless books so far, but not sure what I’m going to do now. I see going forward there are more of these “gifts” to come, and I will want to read them to stay in order, but not sure I want to pay $2+ for such a short book. I read pretty fast and there are many books that take me a few days to read instead of an hour or so.
