Description

The #1 New York Times and #1 Wall Street Journal bestselling author Brad Thor delivers his most frightening and pulse-pounding thriller ever!

After a CIA agent mysteriously dies overseas, his top asset surfaces with a startling and terrifying claim. There’s just one problem—no one knows if she can be trusted.

But when six exchange students go missing, two airplane passengers trade places, and one political-asylum seeker is arrested, a deadly chain of events is set in motion.

With the United States facing an imminent and devastating attack, America’s new president must turn to covert counterterrorism operative Scot Harvath to help carry out two of the most dangerous operations in the country’s history.

Code-named “Gold Dust” and “Blackbird,” they are shrouded in absolute secrecy as either of them, if discovered, will constitute an act of war.

As always Thor wrote another thriller and it didn’t disappoint. The topics he picks unbeknownst to the American population are real life scenarios that play out behind the scenes in our government and political system. Harvarth and crew bring us close to suspense in this page turning can’t put down book.

Felt like this one had no direction honestly. It ended uniquely and in a way I wasn’t expecting, but the secondary storyline didn’t match up AT ALL with the primary story. Really disappointed with that. Wouldn’t really recommend reading this one just because it doesn’t have much depth to it as past thrillers have had. I felt bored reading this one and actually set it aside for a few weeks just because it didn’t get going until around chapter 45 or so. Not Thor’s best work and I could tell a deadline had to be met here being that the book ended in 3 chapters. Sorry Thor, not my favorite.

EXCELLENT READ! Be sure you have the time before you start because it’s hard to put down! You can’t wait for the end of a chapter for a break in the action to rejoin the world because there are so many story lines, each just as fast-paced, that you have to keep reading!

I love your books and especially your subjects. I am a retired Contractor for SIGINT satellite payloads for the US government. Hence my interest in your books. They have a lot of realism. S.G. MILLER

A bad read. A long, boring, predictable plot. Each of Thor's stories read like every other one. Scene changes, same storyline. I do not recommend this book.

In a genre that can become very mechanical and formulaic this book rises above. I found the plot more detailed and in multiple levels and locations simultaneously with better dialogue. Highly recommend.
