Three young men join Aurbindo college. They want to become civil servants. Brij a young man from a fruit seller’s family faces many challenges due to poverty. He tops the University examination & clears the civil services exam on his first attempt. He proves his mettle at work & brings many good changes in the lives of the citizens of the districts where he is posted. He is liked by the Chief Minister so much that he is asked to resign from his secure Government job and become a minister in the cabinet of the present ruling party. Lalit the other young man is an evil genius. He becomes an officer in the excise department where he and his fellow officers indulge in corruption without any fear. Lalit is sent to jail for corruption but this does not change him. He enjoys himself even in the confines of the prison. Once released he joins politics. He becomes a minister by toppling the Government of the day. Nitish the third young man becomes a police officer. His father a senior officer tells him to live in the present and enjoy life as it comes to him. These three young men were friends in college. Their lives remained intertwined throughout their lives.
